Run
Comments: Course was very short. About 1/2 mile short of the 3 miles advertised which I thought was kind of weird...but it is what it is. Ashley set a good pace at the start of 7:22 but started to fade pretty early coming through mile 2 at just under 8 minutes. She was just concerned about the bike after the run. When another female caught us, she picked it up slightly. Transition 1
Comments: This was kind of funny. The two girls, Ashley and some other girl, came into transition together and Ashley almost left in her running shoes as she was trying so hard to go fast,...lol...I stopped her though, just in time. Bike
Comments: Ashley did the best she could here but her lack of time on the bike really showed. It was good for her first time. Transition 2
Comments: I was just watching Ashley making sure she did everything clean. She was out before I was and I just took my time and then caught up to her. Run
Comments: Ashley had a pain in her ankle and it was a struggle to get her around. We did catch one female that passed us on the bike and she was happy about that. Post race
Warm down: Hung around to see if Ashley placed but she got 4th...this is a series so we will be back in a month or so Last updated: 2010-07-16 12:00 AM

Did this event with my girlfriend. I was basically running support the whole time and didn't leave her side. She did great as this was her first duathlon. We just got up early and ate breakfast and headed to the race.
Got to transition to set up which was no big deal. This was a very small race and only had two racks. They mentioned they had about 120 participants. After we set up we went for a short jog and headed to the start line.
