Subject: RE: Wallis Sands Sprint Triathlon : Official Thread Thanks. It was a blast. I'm pretty sure I was passed by at least 2 waves of athletes behind me just in the water alone. Once I was on the bike I got moving, but the water took a lot out of me. I met two lifeguards, kind of hung out with them for a minute while I weighed the decision to keep going or just sink to the bottom. After I made what to me seemed like a huge effort to get over to their boards, I was kicking myself because I could have used that energy to go forward more. I definitely would have felt better if they were more strategically located, but I wasn't sure where they were really supposed to be, so I was just happy to get to any of them. It was my first, so it was a great learning experience, and a good message that I need to get in the water A LOT more. Congrats on everyone for finishing, hope you had as much fun as I did. |
