Subject: RE: Diff. between a $650 and a $200 wetsuit? nc452010 - 2010-09-26 2:58 PM
OK......none of this "$450" stuff, either....lol.
I've got a short window, here. IF I'm gonna try to get ready for a spring race, I need to hurry up and get a wetsuit, now, and get my practice in, this fall (as far as getting used to/over the initial shock of swimming in a wetsuit).
I see the prices are all over the board. What do I get with the $650 models that I don't with the $200 models?
Well I originally bought a $650 wetsuit. Figured since I hated swimming in one, better get the top of the line.
Guess what? I hate swimming in it. Didn't make a bit of difference.
What I realized is that I don't like my shoulders being covered. So I bought a used rental, sleeveless wetsuit from my bike shop, for $75. Guess what? I love it. Fits great. I can swim fine in it.
So for me, a $75 won out over the $650 wetsuit.
OH, and that expensive wetsuit is now going for $200 brand new. I can't even sell it for half as much!
