Comments: This ride has it all, long climbs (the Westgate Bridge), long open windy stretches of freeway, refinery smells, awesome volunteers, the pretty sights of Geelong city and Queensclif, too much sugar (powerbars/gatorade), long waits for ferries, exploding tires, sun, wind, rain, tail winds home, friends who stick signs and lollies on the side of the road for you, friendly riders, undulating hills and most thankfully a finish line. A good, albeit long and kinda tough day on the bike. What would you do differently?: Attitude readjustment! I was a bit whingey for the first part. Mainly because I was still recovering from a head cold and battling into the headwind took it out of me. Post race
Warm down: Huh? Does riding back to the car count? No, I didn't think so. What limited your ability to perform faster: Talent. Training. Would have been good to get some longer sessions in, but Spring = rain. And while there was plenty of that today, I'm not so keen to train in it. Last updated: 2010-10-16 12:00 AM

Up for the 5:00 am alarm, everything was laid out or packed up the night before* so it was just a matter of downing breakfast loading bikes in the car and heading off.
*Or so we thought. It wasn't until we were halfway there that Mr T realised he'd left his race bibs at home. No bib no ride, so we had to turn around and pick them up. This added considerable nervous energy to my system.
We were late and missed the start, so we were straight off to catch up with others.
