Leegoocrap - 2010-11-05 3:24 PM I don't believe in such a thing as a "racable/trainable" tire.

There are racing tires and training tires.

An opinion not held by all at the top of the sport.

Also- Vittoria's Rubino Pro clinchers have been used to win ultra-endurance cycling events like RAAM.

BTW- There is more than 5W (total) overlap in rolling resistance between reported tests for the same tire/tube/pressure combos, and the ranking of top clinchers is not the same in all reported tests.  Other factors are important too. A better handling tire could be the right choice on a technical course, and risking a flat on a tire too delicate for the conditions could waste WAY more time than saved by a small difference in Crr.

Copying the Pro's IS NOT a good idea. Chrissie Wellington can make poor choices just like everyone else. It is not an argument to say "oh Chrissie Wellington has the fastest bike split so I should copy her." No, it just means her genetics / training outweigh the things she is doing wrong.

I would like to see the "other tests" you mentioned though. Links?

And an "ultra endurance cycling event..." seriously. That's not even remotely the same sport as we're talking here. That's like saying I shouldn't run aerowing TT's on my Mountain bike.

Also, you can flat on ANY tire...

In all, I hope everyone at the tri's/tt's I do  agrees and runs a slower tire. Less work for me. YMMV of course.
