Comments: Nothing too notable. The start was a mad dash with the front runners taking off at 4:30 pace. I hung for the first 150m or so and then settled down into a pace I could tolerate. That ended up being about 5:30-5:40. I knew I would slow down a little as I went but figured what the heck, it's only a 5k. I'll hang on for as long as I can stand. I ended up running a 5:58 pace overall as indicated by the RunFar timing results. I'm VERY happy with that! What would you do differently?: Maybe keep up with some kind of workout routine after finishing a HIM 2 weeks prior. Besides the Livestrong ride last weekend, I pretty much sat on my butt for 2 weeks. Post race
Warm down: Walked the 3/4 mile or so from the finish to the water/food. Chatted for a bit with a co-worker, then headed for my truck and went home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of focused (or any) training. Last updated: 2010-07-27 12:00 AM

Toast with PB and some banana. Arrived 25 minutes early. Stayed in my truck to keep warm until 12 minutes to race start.
Slow jog from the parking garage to the start line. Waded through bunches of people to get to the front of the herd.
