Subject: Log Watts in Training log?
Hi peeps.  I just noticed this.  Is there no place in the bike training log to log watts???  Training by wattage seems to be the way to go yet I dont see anywhere to log average wattage to keep track in the training log other than to blog about it.  Is this correct or am I just nuts???

You are correct.  It has been discussed before, and BT is working on a way to import and track power.

FWIW, I just log my normalized power in my logs.  If I want detailed analysis, I use WKO+.  My take on it is that if you're going to train with power, use an application that was designed to analyze power to give you the best feedback.  WKO is a bit pricey, but garmin, cycleops, and trainingpeaks.com all offer pretty good free software since all three companies are invested in the power market.  BT is not in the power market...and I wouldn't expect a very good power analysis tool from them unless they charged a fair amount for that service.

I know they were discussing what numbers we would like to be able to enter for power but I'm not sure where they stand on putting any of it into the logs---so for now I just type into the "Bike" comments section work, TSS, IF, NP, Ave power for the ride....and use other softeware for anaylsis/more data--basically double logging the bike.

Okies.  I just started using a Computrainer and planned on doing their PIG program.  I am a total newbie when it comes to that thing so I have no idea how detailed their software can get.  I just did a 30 min time trial to get my average watts over that time period to base the training on.  I was hoping for something on here as I really like the logs here...probably cant tell from my lack of logging.Cool

I know you are supposed to be able to upload the workouts some how into training peaks.  I just spent 3 hours figuring how to make and open .erg files for the intervals so I guess I will spend another 2-3 trying to figure out training peaks.Tongue out

Would be nice to have all the logs in place amd like I said I love BTs logs.

I use a combination of RaceDay, Training Peaks and BT for my logging.  Pretty inconvenient really.  Would be nice to have a one stop shop...

Just add Golden Cheetah for more craziness!

You would laugh when I am preparing plans for athletes every week; on my laptop I have running RaceDay Apollo, WKO+, BT log (for some), TP, TP Desk Companion, Golden Cheetah (for some) and email.
