Pre-race routine:

Ate a power bar, not too bad
Event warmup:

Stretched out and didn't run any pick ups, wanted to go out slower and warm up that way

Comments:

Decided to run this as a hard work with goal to beat 50 mins and try to get negative splits. Was announced that they had over 900 registered folks. Very hard on the ankles, but did well, ran the hills strong both up and down. Felt a bit sick towards the end, but didn't throw up, so that is two races in a row I haven't chucked up. If I pushed it harder, might have tossed the cookies.
What would you do differently?:

Need to get more base miles with longer distance runs. Need more miles and some speed work, but the hills I was strong on.

Was very well organized and very high tech. Might have to move it because they had LOTS of runners this year. Was a very good race

Course: Rolling Hills, off road with mud and sand. Lots of off camber sections, and loose sand, hard on the ankles but well run race. Used the disposable RF ID chips in the bibs.
