Subject: RE: how do i train myself today?my65cadillac - 2010-12-08 12:52 PM That's exactly the conundrum. If a person doesn't have an event to train for, wouldn't it be helpful if they were able to find a workout to do for their daily exercise? Not at all a one-stop-shop, but something that addresses one of the aspects of triathlons and is available for the general audience so they can look at this website and say..."Holy crap, there is a lot going on here. I wonder if there is a workout i can find to do today among all of this stuff." It may be track repeaters, or a swim program, or a bike distance with an appropriate time to shoot for. Something like that that the everyday visitor can see easily and do. I think it would make people feel like they were involved in a community where other people with similar intereste were doing the workout with them. Then they could post later how it went and share times, distances, problems, successes. You don't need an event to have a goal. Every workout has a goal. The goal can be as specific as doing one arm swim drills to help work on breathing to your 'weak' breathing side, to as general as easy 30 minute recover run, or 60 minutes on the stationary bike while watching Oprah. Once you define the goal for your workout, or series of workouts, it's much easier to determine what exactly you should be doing. |
