Comments:

I really don't like running on gravel, and there were portions of the run that was very rocky. I slowed down to the point where I walked some of the gravel.
Also, at 2.25 into the run, a volunteer had a truck and trailer sitting in the road and turning a number of us down the road. We ran about .1 mile before a 2nd kid caught up to us on a bicycle and told us to turn around.
What would you do differently?:

get more sleep the night before. manage eating prior to race better.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Running on gravel - not for me.

Event comments:

This is the first time this group has organized a run. There was a shortage of volunteers on the course. Route marking was poor and confusing in places. Water stations were poorly manned. The route was actually short.
The effort was well-intended. The race would have been better if the run had been kept on the pavement, but I assume there would have been some costs associated with that. As much as I don't like to run on gravel, this is a race I will not likely repeat.
