Comments: I came out too fast trying to keep up with the 4:00 pacer. He was going too fast and I knew it. The first 4 miles weren't fun and I wanted to stop right then and there. My back/hip/leg was bothersome. By mile 6 I was feeling better and realized I was in it for the long haul. I chatted with some guys and kept my mojo going up through mile 18. Then the long road to nowhere came and crowds were sparse...read that non-existent. I kept slogging on. By mile 22 I was done. I tried to walk and got dizzy, so I kept slogging. I was on pace to hit 4:05 ish until mile 22. I managed to shuffle my way to the finish line, but it was the hardest thing I've ever done. I told my cohorts not to EVER let me do another marathon again. At that moment I really never wanted to run again in my life and I meant every word. I've never felt so awful. What would you do differently?: I would hope for no injuries and be able to train properly, so I wouldn't totally lose it at the end.Never felt that before. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and found a medical person to help me. Felt like I would pass out if I sat down but I was having a hard time walking straight. Finally got a bit of water down and tried to eat but that wasn't happening. Tried to throw up because I was naseaus but that wasn't working either. Couldn't go to the bathroom either. Dehydrated. What limited your ability to perform faster: Injury and therefore not appropriate training. Event comments: Great porta potties -- no lines ever. Good drink support. NOt a lot of crowd support in the hinterlands. Last updated: 2010-11-10 12:00 AM

Jogged around a bit. Hit the porta potty twice. Stashed gear bag in truck and chatted with LA and BJ.
