Tyler,
Subject: Gateway to the Bay Sprint Triathlon : Official Thread
I am ready to kick off the new season with this excellent race at the Kemah Boardwalk. Who else is? There is $32,000 in prize money to be given, there should be a good amount of pros there taking a crack at it.

Great race, will be great to see the Pro's race too. Best swim around if you ask me! Makes it easy for me to leave Ritter far behind in the water! I guess I should start swimming again!

The weekend before we'll have the clinic like we did last year where you'll get to swim the course (sprint course) and do the run course. You can signup on active.com via our site www.GatewaytotheBay.com. More news to come...stay tuned!

Hey Stephen, you may find your game plan a little more difficult next year.

Last year the Sprint was my very first Tri. This year I am going to volunteer for the Sprint (it will be the first time I volunteer) and do the Olympic.  I had a blast last year.

Good man stepping it up this year AND volunteering the day before! Athletes like you are the reason our races are a success. Thank you! We can't wait for the event this year and hope you have as much fun as we know we will out there! You're going to love the boat start and 1.5 miles on the scenic Kemah Bridge before the finish of the run. It will be one to remember!

Turns out I can't read the titles of the threads. I'm in for the Oly, not the sprint! Did it last year and loved it, it's one of my favorite races

Just looked at the new course maps for the Oly race.  You're one sadistic mofo, Aaron.

You took out the bridge for the bike and added it to the run.  Damn you! Cool

Crap.  I missed that part.

Can we have the four trips over the bridge on the bike back in exchange? Wink

I'm sure it's not that bad.  Everyone I spoke to prior to the Clear Lake tri this year built it up as a beast on the bike and I thought it was fun, so I imagine it's not that bad of a run either.

It helps the flow of the race a LOT making it safer too as we had a bunch of cyclists slip on the sharp turns of the bridge last year. This is much better in any weather condition and also makes it a bit tougher. Not a bad thing..... Houston Area Races could use a bit of difficulty, too much flatness. Think big.
