DeKoevend park works for me- it's right off University and Arapahoe.  There's a Rec Center there and some bathrooms and stuff as well.  The only downside is if you go south on the trail from there- there's a lot of lights- but northwards is fun...

There's also Southlands Mall/Village over there and a Whole Foods and some other places to eat, too.  As far as time, I'd say between 9AM and 10AM.  Shannon- is Ocky joining us too?

OK, my BT weather-forecaster says it's supposed to be 11 degrees with snow on Friday!!!!  I might drop from 8 miles to 4 if that's the case.  Holy crap, that's colder than Chicago is going to be.

I'm not sure yet.  He may be doing more "armed hiking" on Friday, but if not, I'll see if I can persuade him to come.

Ummm....it is going to be COLD on Friday! Not only that, I seem to have developed another nasty chest cold! I just can't seem to catch a break with this stupid virus! So, unfortunately, I'm going to have to pass on the run with you all! I'm so bummed!!

BUT, hopefully there will be many more group runs in the future!

Heh... OK.  Let's make it 9:30 then- I'll need to stop @ REI in Park Meadows and get some Yak Trax.  They open @ 9AM Friday.  And if I get frostbite Robyn, you're buying the drinks

If you have an old pair of runners, you can put hex head screws in them for similar affect, or so I've read [starts looking for shoe winterization article in recent tri publication...]

You bet! I used that trick the last two winters while living in Wisconsin. It actually makes running in the snow kinda fun, since you're able to run less tentatively with worry about the ice, especially the hidden stuff.

We haved 2 pair of Yak Trax if anyone needs to borrow them.  We're at University and County Line so it's on the way for some of you.  I'll believe the snow when I see it but I did stock the pantry just in case!

Not to be the party pooper/wuss/p***y here- but if we really end up with 10 inches of snow.... anyone want to come up with a plan B?

My "plan B" involves an indoor facility with a hot tub.

I am more worried about driving in it than running in it, but seeing as my day off is no longer a day off I have to drive in it regardless.  I am still up for whatever y'all wanna do.

At the risk of being threatened to take this offline (!) are you working tomorrow Robyn?  I really would like to get a group together, I've been looking forward to this for a few weeks now...

A forum probably isn't the best place to try to have this discussion, but what other options do we have?  I can get anyone who wants to come to CAC in DTC a day pass, but that's kinda boring.  I can also host a trainer ride party if anyone is up for it-   driving to Castle Rock isn't all that fun, but I have lots of space and a fully stocked bar LOL

Seriously though, I think this was an awesome idea and I hate to see it go to waste.  Suggestions anyone?

I do have to work, but I can go in whenever I need to.  I am still up for doing anything  you all want to do...

Trainer ride at my place is good too... I just bought Zombieland.

Getting together for training is a great idea and there seems to be a lot of interest.
I can't make it tomorrow but I look forward to future training get togethers.

So we decided to bag the run, but we're going to swim over at the new 24 Hour Fitness on County Line @ 10AM.  Maybe lunch @ Lodo's afterwards if anyone is interested!

Ah bummer, if I'd have seen this I definitely would have been able to sneak away long enough to at least swim. I live in the neighborhood right across the street from that 24 and work 3 miles from there.  I spent a lot of time in that gym since it's opened.
