Subject: Sore Ankles after long runs Looking for a little direction on my sore ankles after long runs. I am training for a 1/2 Mary on the 16th of Jan. Ran one in October as well. I am not concerned that I don't have the base to run 12- 14 mile training runs. The issue is my right ankle on the inside especially is quite sore after my long runs. I ice pretty regularly after for the next two days. I wear neutral shoes (Pearl Izumi - mostly ). I am wondering if the neutrals are not providing enough supoort for these longer runs. I have run in a park some times (softer ground ) but I found that my knees tend to get sore under my patella after time goes on so I stopped running there (too much ground fluctuations ). My initial thought are to maybe do my long runs on the softer surface and keep my mid-length runs on the harder surfaces. Any thoughts or others have this issue, if so what helped. Need of some direction or insight. Edited by TriGuyBri 2010-12-28 4:16 PM
