Subject: Newbie from Maryland
Hi to All - I have decided to get the ball rolling and start this thing we call Tri's.  I am a very avid biker but the running and swimming part; YIKES.  I will be looking to all of you for inspiration, support and most of all HELP! Sealed  Start my training after my trip to the Keys for New Years (after I dry out) and am very excited.

hi pomar, welcome to BT and triathlon ... it is an exciting world indeed

lots of great bt'ers in the md/va/dc area, might want to check out those forums -at the bottom of the forums page-

def follow a well-constructed training plan, bt has a bunch of them--your cycling fitness will translate well into running but it's easy to get injured building up too fast

In case you ahven't noticed, us MD tri people are some good people.  I second Steve's recommendation to rub shoulders over a trail run or drinks, though both are planned more often then they occur   Come on over to the dark side (the MD forum).  We'll let you in on the inside jokes as soon as you're ready to be the object of one of them.
