I think I'll make my #1 goal of this season be to improve upon my best AG finish at the Cornhusker State Games triathlon. My best finish was 12/20 in the M20-24 age group back in 2008 which I did the day after the Papillion Mayor's tri.

As far as other races, I really don't know. I want to do a 5K and a 10K because I've not been running consistently for a couple years now due to my battle with Plantar Fasciitis in late 2007. That all changes in 2011 though, provided I can keep the injuries at bay! Other triathlons I might do could possibly include the Black Squirrel, just don't know if I'm ready for anything longer this year.

As soon as I hear a firm date on the TrYathlon in Red Oak, I will post it up, so people can do an early year super sprint.

April 30, 2011 is the super sprint TrYathlon in Red Oak.  Last year was a 200 yard pool swim with a six or eight mile bike (can't remember) and then a 2 mile run.  All flat!!!!  When they get the flyer done, I will post a link to it or people can PM me and I will email it.

Still figuring out what races I'm going to do, but right now it looks like this:
May 1st: Lincoln Half-Mary.  No idea on goal time as I have nothing to base it on.  <3hrs seems reasonable.

Sept 4th: Hy-Vee Tri.  This I want to finish in 3 hrs or less.

Considering the Papillion Mayor's Tri.  I need to balance out the rest of my season with a few 5k's and one 10k would be nice.

My goal for 2011 is to just get back into training and take competing seriously. I have been doing triathlons for several years but never really put my heart and soul into it. I am not a naturally gifted athlete like some are, but usually more mediocre performance was due to lack of training and not my abilities. Just want to be happy and healthy this year.

For races this year, it's still up in the air. Maybe IMLO in August. Will see how my training progresses in the next month or so before I drop the cash on that.

If you are talking about the one at the YMCA, it is a sprint distance.

Johnson Lake is an Olympic.

Hey Dave, I'm doing a lot of the same races as you.

I'm not really doing any organized Tri training other than Masters Swim at Lifetime.

I just started training last August, so most of my training has been pool, spin class, & treadmill through the winter.  I'm looking forward to this summer.
