From my perspective you did pretty well.  I'm still trying to hit the times that you were disappointed in.  So, if you put it in perspective, you did very well...maybe not as well as you wanted to, but a lot better than many of us.

I was 6 minutes slower than I was last year, and that is my own fault (not that I am or ever will be a speedster).  I can chalk mine up to losing focus this year.  Not getting a little aggressive in the transitions cost me at least 3 of that.  But you know what..... that just ignited the fire to get my butt in gear and get with the program.  Get back in your race and kick some butt.  Yeah the nice female triathlete that slapped the cup of water out of my hand on the run motivated me a little also. 

To tri is to risk failure, not to tri is to guarantee it!

You can use that anger to get better, faster instead of quitting. There is power in that emotion, use it.
