I might do the Xterra this year to mix up my training for Ironman. I've always wanted to do one, but if I chicken out and decide I don't want to risk a mountain bike accident, I'll plan for next year for sure!

I was an official at the first pre-Xterra last year at Regina Beach. Right at the run turnaround/bike turnaround. Saw quite a few bloody knees and elbows, but nothing serious. Just scrapes.
It all depends how hard you push it.
Xterra is certainly worth a try...no pun intended!
