I agree.  I met a lot of really nice and enthusiastic people.  I am wondering, though, if there is anywhere that you could get a quick fit for a bike that won't cost $150+?

Ill be glad to give you a bike fit for<150$. I dont know what I am doing, but that doesn't stop lots of folks from doing it.

I think that my bike fits but I haven't ridden it enough yet to know if there is a problem.  I have a friend who is looking to buy a used bike but it is her first and she doesn't know what size to look for.

Having skipped this event the past two years I attended this year. Personally I was disappointed as to amount of vendors and displays. Perhaps the economy has taken its toll on the sport.

As far as swag if one was looking -extremely heavy with paper advertisements, some GU products and a few water bottles.

I was the one giving out the GUs.  : )   There were also a fair number of pens, some water bottles, Mix1, wrist bands, temporary tattoos, stickers, coozies and Ilana Katz's protein bars.  My kids are expert schwag-getters and I cleaned out their bags this morning, so that is how I know.

IMHO, the expo has outgrown the Concourse location and there would be more exhibitors (and schwag) if it were at a less crowded venue.  Several exhibitors were upstairs and they got no traffic.

I would agree, my first time and I was kind of disappointed too.  I had no idea there were any exhibitors upstairs though.

I will say what made it worth while for me was the social aspect, and seeing a lot of people I have not seen in quite a while.  That was fun and made the trip worthwhile.

I too was disappointed with this event.  The way everyone talked about it got me pretty excited about the upcoming season.  I decided to take the whole family to the expo and it was a real letdown.  It seemed like a handful of local vendors were there and I was trying to make my way through a group of people that all knew each other and were getting together to chat about their winter.  I was hoping to see a manufacturer or more and some more equipment from the locals.  I spent all of 10 minutes walking through.

Was this year's event the same as those in the past?

*There were vendors upstairs?  How would anyone have known this?  I didn't.

Your kids must really dread the day after Halloween Smile

Nice meeting you - and several others from BT - at the event. It was nice putting a real face with a screen name. I'm not much of a schwag-grabber (that doesn't sound very nice, does it?), but I picked up a few small things and my SUV is now sporting its new USA Triathlon sticker from their booth.

I made a point of stopping at every booth (even the ones upstairs) and asking them to tell me about their club/program/store/race/product/service, etc. Some were great with their pitch, while others should have stayed home, but it was all valuable info and I learned something from every person I spoke to. I'm working on a short write-up and gathered a lot of info for some future comparison pieces.
