Comments: I had trained and had hoped to stay with my training plan. I started out from the start with a jog, which is a departure from my normal start. I jogged until I was winded, and slowed to a walk. From that point, I alternated with a 1/1 jog/walk and stayed within myself. In previous races, I would try to stay within sight of someone and there pacing would be different and I would gas myself. I am very pleased with my race and my time. What would you do differently?: TRAIN MORE!! Post race
Warm down: Stretching and walking. More stretching and more walking. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training and being sick. Event comments: Loved this race and the organization was great!!! Hope they continue this race in the coming years under a different name. Great course and a good challenge. woke up around 7:15, showered and got dressed in the gear I had laid out the night before. Sleeveless base layer, long sleeve 2nd layer and a jogging jacket that I like. Tri shorts, cycling pants (without a chamois). Stopped on the way to the race to grab my favorite pre-race or pre-workout breakfast. Starbucks Oatmeal with Brown Sugar. YUM!!! Drove in with hubby and daughter, picked up chip and got ready to roll.
some light jogging followed by stretching and hugs from my girl.
