Member 108 | Subject: RE: ladies, help me find a swimsuit that fits!!!! While at 5'4", you are considered to be petite but with a long torso, that throws you off size wise. I think a 36 should do it for you. Being 5'6" size 0-2 with the opposite issue (long legs and short torso), I am able to buy swimsuits in the kids department but usually wear a size 32. Once I bought a Nike swimsuit that was a size 8-34 because I thought it would fit. It was too big and long for me but wore it anyway. A store like Sport Chalet will be the best bet for you since they carry a wide variety of sizes and brands. If you can't find a real swimsuit there, try going to Kohls or Target for a bathing suit. Regular 101 | Subject: RE: ladies, help me find a swimsuit that fits!!!! Okay, I'm 2 inches shorter and weigh about the same, wear size 34 suit...generally wear 2 piece under one piece, as the 2 piece provides more coverage up top. Also another idea if you want a higher neckline is to look for a water polo suit, as these are cut so it is harder for someone to grab onto the suit a pull on it, which may be good in a non wetsuit swim. Most water polo suits have a zipper in the back though. |

Master 8247 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: ladies, help me find a swimsuit that fits!!!! Have you tried Zoot (swimsuits, not trisuits)? I have a different build (between 5'7 and 5'8 and kind of "straight" but smaller) but have horrible problems with swimsuits being too short. Everything from 34 to 38 pulls and rides up and exposes my whole butt and only 40+ is long enough, but then it's falling off my size 2/ 34A body..... Zoot seems to run really long in the torso, fits snugly, and is fairly conservative with neckline and butt coverage. Otherwise, agree with other posters--you could just swim in a trisuit! TYR makes some very swim-friendly ones. I wear S and it is long/snug enough; you would probably be fine with M. |

I'm about your height (I wear 36) and certain swim suites like the speedo thin strappy ones will ride too low in the chest area. So, to keep my girls from flopping out during practice I wear an inexpensive swim top like this:http://www.swimoutlet.com/product_p/22401.htm under my suites that are too big or cut too low up top. |

Veteran 314 SoCal | Subject: RE: ladies, help me find a swimsuit that fits!!!! BikerGrrrl - 2011-02-25 1:49 PM I tend towards a longer torso and like the TYR suits. My speedo goes up way to high on my legs until I get it wet, then it's "ok". The TYR seem to tend to stretch out the long way - good for you! I would recommend trying one of their grab bag suits from Swimoutlet.com like this: http://www.swimoutlet.com/product_p/7422.htm I find their suits to be "true to size". Check out the size chart here: http://www.tyr.com/size_chart.php I avoid two-piece and reversible because they tend to squeeze in the wrong places, the edging is too firm. If you try one, you can exchange for size (not color, nor can you return it). But I think for $22, it's a good one to try. They fit okay dry, GREAT wet. Love swimoutlet! x3 i'm 5'4, about 130# and baby got back! (but, sadly, no boobs.) i was hesitant to spend a bunch of money without trying on a suit, and TYR was recommended to me by my masters coach ... so i did the grab bag TYR suit from swimoutlet.com. now, granted, i got a, uh, interesting color/pattern (pink and orange flames on a black background?) so you take your chances, as it's a grab bag.... but the suit fits PERFECTLY. and i got a spendy suit for around $22. and really, who cares about the color/pattern -- i'm just doing lap after lap in a pool. |

I am all about making a fashion statement in the pool. I wear some of my suits more than I wear my jeans. I don't skimp on on my suits. You get what you pay for in my opinion. I buy 3 suits a year all at the same time from swimoutlet to get free shipping. |

I love that!!, that is so cute!, and makes sense! Thanks everyone, I really appreciate all the replies. I think I might go with the Nike route. I had a super awesome swimsuit that I wore to death, but the tags are gone so I have on idea what brand it is, etc. Thanks again, you all have helped a great deal |

I'm wondering what some other's favorites are. I really had no idea they had swimsuits this cool since I'm new to swimming. |

I'm the same size as you, 5'7" and 140lbs (damn winter weight) except I'm all leg and very little torso. I just picked up a size 38 Uglies suit, the only polyester suit at Dick's, and it fits me perfectly. It might be a bit short for you although it does have high enough neck that you may be fine. |

Everyone tells me the size suit I wear is to big. Honestly, I can't get butt into anything smaller. |

I could kick myself for not buying a TYR skull and crossbones suit a few years back. Now, I buy them and don't think twice. I only allow myself 3 suits a year though. Suits can be a bit addicting. |

Extreme Veteran 396 | Subject: RE: ladies, help me find a swimsuit that fits!!!! I'm 5'3 and weigh between 140 and 145, size 6 jeans. I just ordered my third TYR suit like the one below, size 36. I really like the long torso fit and it's lined. This price is great as well, the normal price is $64.00.
