Pre-race routine:

Up early to drive to Manhattan with Dr. Speedo - we loaded up our bikes and all our bike gear, too, in hopes of getting in a ride after the 10K. Heh.

Packet pickup, 5-minute jog, trying to stay warm in the car.

Ran into Holly from the tri club (former F65-69 AG 70.3 CHAMPION!) and then seeded myself appropriately in the back.
Event warmup:

There was a 5-minute jog in there somewhere.

Comments:

What a fun little road race! No one told me it was hilly, ha!
First few miles were fun and steady, not too fast and not too slow. It rained from miles 2-4ish, all of my exposed skin got nice and red. Saw Dr. Speedo in the lead pack when they turned around - he was #15 overall at the time. So fast. Loooong downhill mile from 2-3, and then turned around to have to run back up it. That was hard!

Saw a herd of sheep scampering off in a field to our right - heh.

Otherwise I just chugged along by myself. Slowed down a little but didn't hurt too bad. Ran awhile next to a husband/wife with a double baby stroller - they were super cute.

Back onto campus for the last mile. Run run run. Finally there is the finish line - picked it up the last .2 miles to a 9:30 pace. Go me.
What would you do differently?:

Nuthin! I had a great time!
Post race
Warm down:

Dr. Speedo found me, and so did my pal Trish. Talked to them for a bit, put some pants on and headed out, twas pretty cold out.
No bike ride for us as it thunderstormed on and off all afternoon. Instead, we hit Chipotle, showered up, and hung out in Aggieville the rest of the night. Had an amazing time with an amazing guy :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just me :)

I'm glad the rain didn't ruin your race even though I'm sure it was cold.

I was thinking of you Saturday morning when it was thundering and pouring here.
