Subject: RE: Keuka Lake Triathlon : Official Thread Just received this gem! Yikes! Dear 2011 Keuka Lake Tri participants, We have been checking the lake temperature (http://keukalaketri.com/watertemp.html )and if you haven’t noticed it is going to be the coldest in race history. Typically, we reach the lower 60’s by race morning. Due to an unusually rainy and cold spring the water temperature is predicted to be in the mid 50’s. Currently we are at 53. For your safety we have decided to put the following in place: 1) If the water does not get above 60 on race morning we will be shortening the swim distances for all races. The intermediate course will be 750m instead of 1500 meters. The sprint and aquabike will be 300 meters instead of 750 meters. We are asking you, if you haven’t done so already, to make sure that you have a wetsuit. We are also suggesting an extra swim cap or neoprene swim cap in addition to the one we provide to you that must be warn during the race. Booties will keep your feet warm and we will be allowing gloves. Please make sure that the gloves are tight fitting. This is at the race directors discretion and we are using it. 2) If the water is above 60 on race morning we will proceed with the normal distances as advertised on the website. Thanks, Score This!!! P.S. Don’t forget about the free webinar on June 1st |
