Subject: RE: How soon to start training for a 50KBe careful about increasing your miles to quickly. I have seen many runners get hurt by doing that. I think do 30-40 miles a week is enough for a 50k especially if you are doing other activities. Add in a long hikes (6-8 hours or longer at a good pace ) to supplement those miles. It is very rare for me to run more than 50 miles a week and I have been doing ultras for the last several year. Just my 2 cents. Listen to your body and don't push it too much. Good luck. |
