"Other key changes effective April 13, 2011, include:
Bicycles:
Frontier is removing the flat fee for checked bicycles and will now include them in the standard baggage allowance, meaning customers traveling on Classis or Classic Plus fares can include their bike as one of their two complimentary checked bags and Economy passengers would pay $20 if the bike is one of their first two checked bags. Bikes will be exempt from any oversize fees, but subject to overweight fees and excess bag fees, if applicable. This is similar to the carrier’s current policy for golf clubs and skis."

My Wife and I flew Frontier Airlines from Ft. Myers Fl to Milwaukee, WI after a wedding.  I was VERY impressed with the service.  Friendly, VERY comfortable seats (lots of padding, I have long legs that usually touch the seat infront of me and they did not on their plane), they passed out WARM chocolat chip cookies during the flight, AND they came by TWICE to ask if people wanted drinks.  Their prices seem VERY inexpensive, especially if you can take off from one of their hub locations (milwaukee or denver).  I would recomment Frontier to ANYONE.

I had heard about this rumor and glad to see it came true.  I don't fly much but with another IM on the horizon Frontier might make a better choice to fly now.

Thanks so much for posting - I travel a lot and get SMACKED with bike fees. Awesome to hear an airline is doing this!

This makes me so EXCITED! Thanks for posting. I'm flying Frontier for vacation 6 weeks before IMLP and now I get to take my bike!!! I was considering paying $50 each way, but this is so much better.
