Pre-race routine:

Woke up and took in a minimal amount of calories, just enough to ease my morning hunger, mainly had water.

Comments:

Paced a friend for this race. Legs and lungs felt good, was very relaxed and felt like I could have pushed to a top 3 finish. Had fun though and helped friend win 2nd overall female. This was her first 5K ever, and she did fantastic and learned a lot I think, hopefully I helped.
What would you do differently?:

Push push push, and lose the long sleeve top :)

Hey guys good job.  I just had to jump in when I saw the race.  My wife was a JL member a few years back and worked on that race.  We run that loop around Farifax Corner all the time it's part of our regular "home run".

 

Kudos on the podium finish... that's awesome.
