Total Time = 2h 02m 53s
Overall Rank = 165/539
Age Group = F20-29
Age Group Rank = 32/87
Pre-race routine:

Up at 530 to drive into St. Albert. Paul Plakas led the pre-race stretch which was cool since he is one of my fav fitness gurus! Chatted to some friends at the start line.
Event warmup:

Gentle stretching/jumping/jogging in place. Second race of the weekend...was a bit fatigued and stiff from the first one.

Comments:

Well....started off fine...for about 2km...got really tight and decided I needed to bring it down a notch. I just couldn't really get any speed. Everyone in my group pretty much passed me and I just got into the mentality to treat it like a training run rather than getting worked up about it not going well. Sprint tri the day before a half isn't optimal...who would have thought?
What would you do differently?:

Not have done a sprint tri the day before? Haha.
Post race
Warm down:

Ended up on the trainer at home for 75min.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Sprint tri, fatigue, tightness. I can run the distance fine...just wasn't able to do it quickly today I guess. Not to pleased with the end result...but that is how it goes sometimes. It wasn`t a high priority and just something to do on the route to IMLP.

Event comments:

Really awesome post race food, BEER GARDENS, music, etc post race. Very picturesque course through St. Albert and Sturgeon Valley. Well run for the inagural year!

"Not have done a sprint tri the day before"

That is hilarious! And the fact that your cool down included an hour on the trainer must mean you are training for an IM! Great work for back to back races in the same weekend. Very impressive.

Did Paul have on a tight shirt? Because that guy has all the tight shirts.

Sounds like a good day.

Haha. Yes, Paul's shirt was prettty tight. It was black though...not his usual lime green or baby blue he seems to take preference to.
