Comments: What can I say? This was a PR for me, the first time I've ever averaged anything in the 10s, and I actually picked a rabbit to pace off of and passed him with half a mile to go. I also got a basically meaningless but still very cool trophy. What would you do differently?: Keep practicing and get stronger Post race
Warm down: Walk for 5 minutes, eat a banana, drink vast quantities of water and gatorade. Stretch achy calves What limited your ability to perform faster: Still a beginner Event comments: The really sad thing is that I am in a county of 200,000 people, and the race was in a city of over 50,000. We had 14 people show up for the 5k, and about 20 for the 10k. This was the only event this weekend, and it just proves how little of a fitness community we have down here...very sad. The race organizers did their best to put on a quality event, but with 35 participants, there's not a whole lot you can do. Last updated: 2005-08-27 12:00 AM
