Pre-race routine:

I ran this as part of a relay team...I did legs three and four of the run for a total of 12.1 miles.

* Number of routes from Camden, ME to Burlington, VT on Google maps: 3
* Number of routes with no closed roads: 1
* Number of “rerouting” during drive (which means back tracking and trying a new path): 2
* Size of hail encountered during drive: 1/4”
* Number of lightning strikes in close proximity of car during drive: 10
* Number of times hydroplaning due to “ponding water” (a phrase I was not familiar with): 1
* Thickness of mud on the road in Montpelier (after second “reroute”) due to floods that afternoon: 6 inches
* Number of moose that we almost hit with the car: 1
* Number of high school proms taking place at our hotel the night before the race: 1
* Time my youngest daughter sang the entire lyrics of “Don’t Stop Believing” because we could hear them perfectly from our room: 12:30a
* Number of people sharing my bed the night before the race: 3
* Amount of sleep I actually got the night before the race: 2 hours
* Number of feet higher Lake Champlain is than normal: 20
* Temperature at the start of the Burlington Marathon: 68 degrees
* % Humidity at the start of the Burlington Marathon: 100% (it was raining)
* Temperature at the end of the Burlington Marathon: 85 degrees

* Average temperature that I have been training in: 45 degrees
* Distance of the two relay legs I ran: 12.1 miles

* Number of drummers on the route: 25 Tibetans, 10 amateurs

All things considered - it was really fun, I had a great time and one of my relay partners and I are contemplating running the half/half next year.
What would you do differently?:

Sleep more, eat better, train in a sauna.

That's quite an unusual list for a marathon race report!!  Good times!  Great job in the crazy weather.
