Sounds great, is the info on the event on here or did you find it somewhere else? How was Pleasent Prarie, I heard it was a good event.

I actually found it through anohter site. Here's the link to race site. Price goes up on 7\1\2011 I believe.

Pleasant Prairie was a great race in my opinion. I will definitely be doing it again next year. Very well run.

Looks like about 120 people registered so far. I wonder how the water temp is. I plan on driving the course the day before when I pick up my packet.

Innaugural?!  Oswego has had a tri (shorter/ "I tried a triathlon") for 25+ years.

It was the first one I did in '88!

Are they still running that one or is this a replacement to that/ longer version of it???

They are still doing the "i tried a tri" but that is run by the park district. This one is run by a personal entity or a bank i believe. I wanted to do the one on 8-7 but i just got my bike 2 days ago and i dont think i would make the swim so i will start training now for next year.

Anyone familiar with the body of water in which they're holding the swim?  Looks like a farm irrigation run off pond!  Is this going to be sanitary??

I just spoke with a longtime Oswego local who said the pond this is in is an old stone quarry or something of some type...said the water should be very clean - no livestock around or anything, nice and deep, clean water.

Anyway, I'm just answering my own question here!  Looks good.

Website was dated a few days ago, but listed 86.

OK I was hoping it was an old quarry & not some stagnant old gross thing, haha.

I'm registered too - hope we have good weather!

Definitely more than 86 people. There's 5 pages of people and I think there's 50 to a page.

I think the 86 was referring to the water temp not the number of participants.

Should be a good but very warm day for a race.

Ahhh ....missed that partCool Yea definitely think it's going to be warm. Any idea how the bike and run course are? Hilly...flat...in between? I'm going out Saturday for packet pickup and to ride the course.

I'm in too. I just registered. I country care if the skies open up as long as the temps stay below 90. Did Racine a few weeks ago and out was brutal.

FWIW-- Regarding registration-- the website contradicts itself saying in one section-- you can register the morning of the race; while in another section, it states that there is no registration the morning of the race.

I sent an email to the director and she confirmed that there is no registration the morning of the race but you can register on Saturday at packet pick-up.

Has anyone received any additional info on this race? Will there be water/sports drink on the run course and do you know at what point? And do you know how many waves there are? Thanks!

The website says water and sports drinks will be provided before, during and after the race...I don't know where, I'm sure they'll have at least one aid station out on the run.

No idea how many waves...it looks like they've got almost 300 participants though, which is more than I was expecting for this race.

Picked up my packet today - I didn't realize the race started so late.  But it's nice to not have to wake up at 4 AM!  I am a little irritated that that information wasn't included in the packets but at least it's available online.

Drove the bike course - there are two very small hills but everything else is pretty flat.  The last mile+ is on HORRIBLE pavement and the first 1/2 mile isn't great.  The rest is fairly smooth with some random bumpiness.

Yeah I did the same.

A couple dicey sports down on that "reservation road" where there's some pretty sharp turns in succession, along with a bumpy road.  I'm hoping they'll have volunteers there warning people to slow down, otherwise there will be carnage.

A flat road course, wow can't wait.   I'm excited since my last race two weeks ago got cancelled while I was on the starting line for the swim.  Looks like we won't get any thunder storms rolling in during the race.  I hope every one runs a PR, good luck to all.

Ha - must have been Wauconda...I was there too.  That was brutal being 2 minutes from jumping in and having it get called.  Good luck tomorrow.
