Comments: Wind sucks. 'nuff said. Transition 1
Comments: Yay for speed laces! Booo for another race with 70mph winds to contend with. What would you do differently?: not much. Bike
Comments: I was soooooo happy to be on my bike... until the wind. That sucked. And it just didn't stop! Despite that, the bike felt pretty good, though I knew I went way too hard on it and it was going to bite me in the bum when I got out for the last run segment... but at least I beat Tony on the bike! Wheeeeee! What would you do differently?: Not go so hard? But if I didn't, I think I might have ended up going backwards becuase of the wind. Stoopid wind! Transition 2
Comments: Not much to say, change the shoes and get out there! What would you do differently?: Nada - t'was good. Run
Comments: It was hell from the time I put my bike away... my legs were toast and just didn't want to work, but I somehow got through it... with a lot of walking and swearing. Mostly in my head, but a few times out loud. I also wanted to kick the one girl who went by me and said "c'mon now, pick it up!". I think she deserved to be kicked for that. Post race
Warm down: Get into some warm clothes, and wait for the cab while ooooohing and aaaaahing at the Ferrari's, Lotus', and other cool cars from the Top Gear lot. Sooooo purdy! What limited your ability to perform faster: My running isn't that great to begin with... and then with that freakin' wind??? Fugget about it! Event comments: Would do this again if the wind would effing stop!!! (can you sense a theme here?) Last updated: 2011-06-01 12:00 AM

Ride to the train, have breakfast, coffee, etc. on the train. Get a cab from the train to the race site, run a 10km in the morning (55mins - ugh!) and then have some lunch (note to self: salami in the sandwich was NOT a good idea and I did not enjoy having it revisited on me) and then go and do a duathlon. Easy peasy... yeah, right.
Other than running the 10km and trying to stay warm and out of the wind? Not much.
