Overall Rank = 106/180
Age Group = W30-34
Age Group Rank = 3/7
Pre-race routine:

Got up, ate breakfast, packed my bag and drove to the site (about 7 minutes from my house.
Event warmup:

Put on wetsuit (can that count as a workout in itself? Swam a couple hundred metres
Swim
  • 14m 12s
  • 750 meters
  • 01m 53s / 100 meters
Comments:

Good swim for me, but time doesn't reflect that. I think the swim was a little long. Based on my training, I should have been at 13:00 coming out of the water, but I was at 13:45 (plus the run to transition
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I think I swam right, to give you an idea, that was the 38th fastest swim time.
Transition 1
  • 01m 45s
Comments:

I was having some difficulties getting my wetsuit off at the ankles and then in my frustration to regain lost time, I accidentally dropped my helmet on the ground. Running out of transition a guy was getting ready right in my way.

Get up to the mount line, clip in, push off and... nothing. I dropped a chain!
What would you do differently?:

check my chain and not get flustered.
Bike
  • 1h 04m 46s
  • 30 kms
  • 27.79 km/hr
Comments:

Good ride for me. Time includes the long run to the mount line and fixing my dropped chain. I would have been close to 30 km/hour without those! for me, that is awesome. I actually passed some people on the bike too! I passed 5 guys and only 5 girls passed me which for me is pretty awesome!
What would you do differently?:

Not have a dropped chain? Other than that I think I biked almost perfectly for the race
Transition 2
  • 01m 7s
Comments:

I was flustered again in T2, I waisted time picking up my wetsuit and was just plain flustered. Hopefully will do better next time.
What would you do differently?:

Not get flustered.
Run
  • 41m 42s
  • 7.6 kms
  • 05m 29s  min/km
Comments:

Great run for me. I haven't gone under 6 min/km in a tri since 2007, so I am super happy about that. I felt good for the entire run and it was comfortably hard the entire time. I probably could have pick the pace up a little earlier than I did (like with 1.5 km left to go rather than 0.5 km left to go). I will know for next time to push a little earlier at the end.
What would you do differently?:

Other than picking up a little earlier, nothing
Post race
Warm down:

stood around talking to people from the store. Had some milk, watched some of the try-a-triers fininsh the swim. Tried desperately to warm UP! Collected my Medal :D, and went home

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think I did about as good as I can realistically do right now. The girl who finished one spot ahead of me was like 15 minutes ahead of me, so there is no way I was even close to her.

Event comments:

The drink stations were okay because how cold it was. It it was warmer, another aid station would have been helpful
