Swim
Comments: Current and chop conditions shaped up to be very favorable this year. Very limited chop from the SSW which resulted in occasional waves from behind, pushing us along like body surfing on occasion. Some stronger currents around mile 2 trying to push me to the south, had to turn 90 degrees and go full throttle for a bit to avoid a DQ. After the Mile 2 marker, though, I got dead center in between the bridges and stayed for the rest of the swim. At times it was almost lake-smooth and easy to get into an easy relaxed rhythm. Had my training started earlier in the year, I might have set a PR this year, but otherwise it was just a nice (long) swim. Post race

Drove down with my wife and 4 daughters. Built a sand castle.
First 500 meters of the swim was my warmup.
