Subject: How tight

How tight should a tri top fit? I have a small and xs tri top here. I'm not sure which one to keep. The small is comfortable, not baggy but not skin tight. The xs feels a little tight under my arms, a little shorter and skin tight all over. I really think the small would be a lot more comfortable on the run but is probably going to be loose in the swim.

Opinions?

i would go as tight as possible until the skin starts to flap over the tri top edges, then you know if you have gone too far.

Many people will unzip their tri tops a bit for the run for movement.  The tightness though helps greatly with the bike leg.

Right at skin tight. I would consider it too tight if it felt like it was cutting off circulation though

Hmm, then the top I got is too big.  I just went for the least expensive one I could find at the Tri shop.  May have to look into getting a better fit one if I get completely hooked after my first tri.    Never thought about how tight a tri top should be, thanks for the advice!

I would definitely go as skin tight as possible.

I went tight but not quite skin tight as I figured the general public world not be able to deal with seeing my manly physique in all it's glory.  Girls would swoon, men would be in awe; when all is said and done there would be chaos.

After a few ride/runs, my tri-top is now called "The Nipple Shredder".  Next time I buy a top modesty be damned...
