Subject: RE: Ironman Mont-Tremblant : Official ThreadMy race went as expected, which included having to walk the entire marathon (had a calf issue, but it was my knee that acted up just like in Melbourne earlier this year ). The swim was a little rough with everyone being so crowded with the only worse one than that was Lake Placid. The roads on the bike course were excellent. The climbs at the end of each loop were tough, but it's always good to have some challenges in an IM. The second loop was tough with the wind. The run (which was a walk for me ) was fine...not the most scenic run course although the stretch along the lake was very nice. The rain really sucked...since I was walking, I couldn't generate much heat and since I'm small framed, I get cold easily and suffered. During the heavy rain, I thought that if it had continued, i might drop out, but fortunately, it let up. In any case, it's a fantastic venue (my wife raved about it from a spectator's perspective ) and it was my 10th IM finish, so it was a great day. |
