Pre-race routine:

Up at 4:45am. Had breakfast, then made coffee to go...2 hour drive to race.
Event warmup:

Swam about 200m. Maybe should have done more.
Swim
  • 16m 17s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 10s / 100 meters
Comments:

Don't know how to explain what I felt. I could not see boyee going out because of sun. Glad I had the wetsuit because it made it much easier for seighting, well at least once I rounded the first boyee. Rounded second boyee and aim straight at wrong boyee, I was wondering why no one was near me, stopped looked around re-aligned. Very frustrating. Anyway I finnished swim with a 2:11/100m which includes 200m run to transition. Oh well, next race.
What would you do differently?:

Purchase new goggles. Find a place to practice OWS.
Transition 1
  • 01m 25s
Comments:

Wetsuit came off very easily.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Bike
  • 58m 44s
  • 16.78 miles
  • 17.14 mile/hr
Comments:

Had lots of troubles with my rear derailer. Went out easy, slowly increase my pace. Felt good throughout the ride. Little trouble on the uphills, shifted gears well to maintain good cadence and keeping legs fresh.
What would you do differently?:

Don't clean chain and derailers night before race. Don't miss any Long rides in training. Get outside for a few rides before first race.
Transition 2
  • 00m 49s
Comments:

good transition
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 38m 52s
  • 4.04 miles
  • 09m 37s  min/mile
Comments:

first and last 1.25km is hilly cross-country. It help to slow me down and get my legs ready but killed me on way in. I didn't attempt to get to goal pace as I didn't feel I could maintain it.
What would you do differently?:

Missed too many long runs. Need to change schedule so as to make sure I don't missed them anymore. Will need them for OLY.
Post race
Warm down:

Eat and drink

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Endurance training.
