Subject: gas on the coast

I should be in bed, but my brother called me wanting me to look for gas availalbiltiy on the net.  I'm not having any luck.  Searched a couple of message boards.  He's in Biloxi and he wants to drive out East.  Some say there's gas in Mobile.  In Jackson the lines are "five miles long" according to mom.

any ideas where to search?  AAA isn't loading.

He wants out.  He had to pull out his gun today when some thug tried to rob him and his truck.

scary.

Having been there and speaking to my in-laws, do NOT go to Jackson ... there simply is no gas there. Mobile might be a different story as they were not hit as hard and I-10 isn't as accessible as I-20 (e.g. you cannot go through New Orleans so there will not be as much traffic).

I found gas more readiliy available the further I got from Jackson - shoot, it was available w/out long lines in Meridian. I eventually stopped outside of Eutaw, AL and paid $2.49/gallon - the owner refused to price gouge ... and refused to allow people to fill up beyond a normal tankful b/c folks were selling 5 gal jerry cans for $50.00 on the street.

Good luck to your brother!
