Anybody done one of these yet?

I just signed up for the PrarieMan aquabike on Sep 11th. I'm going to see my nephews race in the HIM and when I found out an aquabike was being offered, I signed up for it just to get a workout in. I don't think the swim and bike will be any problem (I've done six 50-70 mi bike tours this summer and I swim with a masters class--and we aren't looking for speed at this thing), but I'm not remotely ready for a 13 mi run. I'm also not interested in having a strategy of walking part of the run just to complete a HIM. I'm not ready for a HIM.

Regardless, this isn't a 'race' for me so I am really excited. Much more so than the last two OD tris where I knew I had to run at the end of them. This just feels like plain ol' fun. A bike tour with a swim at the beginning. Whoo Hoo!

SEE YOU THERE! My friend and I are doing the HIM! I was gonna just do the Aquabike til my doc told me to go ahead and kill my knees til they hurt. He had good reason...he wants to see them fully inflamed...not partially

I did Timberman Aquabike a few weeks ago. If you check out my race list you can read my report. I suck at running, so aquabike was agreat introduction to something longer then my usual sprint and olympic distance races. Make sure you drink and eat enough on the bike even though you won't be running afterwards. Bonking in the middle of the ride sucks.
