Total Time = 1h 10m 42s
Overall Rank = 61/289
Age Group = M3539
Age Group Rank = 9/19
Pre-race routine:

Got up at 3.15am to leave at 4.15am to make it to the race at 6.20am...
Event warmup:

None... had some Nuun and a gel shot before walking to the beach
Swim
  • 09m 20s
  • 440 yards
  • 05s / 100 yards
Comments:

I still can't swim, but I'm getting better at surviving the water.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing... learn to actually swim... :-)
Transition 1
  • 03m 37s
Comments:

Had a pretty good T1. Wet suit got stuck a bit on my calfs, but only lost minimal time.
What would you do differently?:

Run slightly faster from beach to transition area
Bike
  • 33m 49s
  • 12.28 miles
  • 21.79 mile/hr
Comments:

Made up lots of time on the bike. Since the bike course was basically a lane divided into two bike lanes (one in each direction), there was times when it was difficult to pass.
What would you do differently?:

I could've gone slightly harder when I had tail wind, but only by a small amount
Transition 2
  • 01m 2s
Comments:

Had a very good T2. Took some extra time to grab a last drink before heading out.
What would you do differently?:

Get a different hydration system so I drink more on the bike
Run
  • 22m 55s
  • 3 miles
  • 07m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

Had a hard time getting my rhythm going and never got to my normal pace
What would you do differently?:

Hydrate better on the bike
Post race
Warm down:

None.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Poor hydration and insufficient sleep (next time we need to stay by the race if it is an early start and longer drive).

Event comments:

Sun events do a great job with high quality details like putting all team members in the same area in transition. The delay of the start was to make sure that a broken down car was removed from race course and that the coolant that leaked out was properly removed. Good decision to delay!

Although I managed to get 9th in AG my wife got 2nd in her AG... she beat me again... and yes, very proud of her!
