Is the Create New Route Map not working?

I have tried several times over the last week to try to create new routes for the bike rides I've done, and the mapping feature is "on the fritz."  I click my starting point, and then go to click the next point, and it puts it in a totally wrong place, and then I try to hit undo, and start from scratch, and then when I start over, it is very erratic.

Any ideas?

Trying to map out a 50 mile bike for this weekend and am getting very frustrated!
