Signed up for both...and got $25 off! Two races for $115 or so: pretty awesome.

Anyone else in? Anyone going to dress up?

That is a good deal!  I'm in for the one in Keller as well.  Monster was my first tri (see avatar).  Have since upgraded from mtn bike/hybrid to a road bike, lost a few lbs, oh...and actually trained this yr.  So looking forward to hopefully doing a bit better this time.  No dressing up, I look scary enuf as it is .

Monster 2 was pretty cold last year.  You didn't really notice it until you came out of the natatorium and then it just hit you like a sledgehammer.  I ofcourse forgot to dry off my feet before getting on my bike and they were numb by mile 3.  Good times.

Cold sounds kinda good right now!  To the first timers...I was so glad I chose Monster as a first attempt at this tri stuff.  There were plenty of others doing their first, so you will definitely be in good company!

I think I am in! It'll be my 3rd. I did Caveman in April as my first and LOVED it. Then I did one down here in the Houston area, CB&I, in May...an open water swim...and I 'hated' it. I just got my desire back and wanted to do another pool swim. The cool weather DOES sound good right now! I'm thinking of the 2nd monster, but maybe the 1st would be warmer?

Signed up yesterday. I missed out last year, but Monster was my first tri back in 2008. I missed out on an AG podium in 09' by one spot so I have to fix that this year, and if everything falls into place, try and get into top 10 overall.

Monster was my first tri as well. Last year's Denton race was FREEZING COLD. My whole body was numb for almost the whole bike leg.

I'm hoping to have my project bike finished and thus go in costume to one of the races, probably Denton since I feel like it has an easier bike leg.

I plan to do the Keller race since I live down the road.  That is if I am walking by then?  I get back from Kona the Tuesday before so I thought it would be cool to do the Monster tri the following weekend as kind of a victory celebration to a great year!

Wife and I signed up for both after completing our first which was the Old College Tri on 9/4. Hopefully it'll be enough time to make some improvements and learn how to ride a road bike again Embarassed

I don't think we'll be dressing up though at least for the first one. Maybe the second one.

Exactly. Same here, if I can get my calfs to quit cramping for a run after swim or bike.

I might go out. This was my First triathlon and the same course again in April was my second. I liked it a lot but since I am so late signing up I dont know that I will sign up at the late registration fee price!

I have a question about the bike course for Keller.  I mapped it on map my ride and it shows it to be pretty flat(max 2% for a quarter of a mile).  However a bunch of the race reports say that it is a hilly course.  Has the course changed or is hilly a realative term in the D/FW area.  Just trying to get an accurate picture since I will not be able to see the course before race day.

There's one "hill" based on DFW standards that's pretty short. Other than that it's pretty much flat as a pancake or a little downhill.

I feel like the Keller course has two significant hills (relative) and the rest is flat. Its a double loop course btw, so its kind of like 4 hills.

Ready to do this tomorrow in Denton!!

No costume for me though, this is a serious race between my old man and I.  A 15 minute handicap for a sprint is no joke!

I'm revising my race prediction due to lack of training! I got in the pool tonight for the first time in probably 2 months, thankfully it's a short swim. I've decided to shoot for bettering my time from 2 years ago and to be happy if I can do that!
