Anyone ever done this race?  I'm doing it and need some feedback of what to expect.

I'll race this one again this year.  Took 3rd in AG last year.  Smaller field, but yeah, good race.

I signed up yesterday.  This will be my last tri of the year.  I'm beat up mentally and tired from training, racing, work and life.  Will do some 5ks this fall, warrior dash, and start training for the Country Music Marathon in early November.

I've got this and Augusta, using this as a brick workout with a short swim thrown in for good measure..

I'll be wearing a different kti, x3 multisport.. come by and say hey.

This will hopefully be my first triathlon (I say hopefully because I have a jammed toe that prevents me from wearing shoes/running that I hope is better by Saturday).  Nonetheless, how does the swim start?  Do you start in the water or dive off side of pool deck?

We will jump into the deep end about 3 to 5 seconds apart, starting from bib #1.  It is called a "time trial" start.

I've added both routes to this website.  Go to "Routes" above and search for Manchester STAR.  Once the route is up, click "Elevation" at the top of the route and it'll show you the grades.

Hmmm..... Mine load just fine.  Don't know what to tell you.  Looks like the run route has about an 80 foot climb about midway and the rest is relatively flat.  Bike route doesn't hardly have any hills from looking at the graph.  Hope that helps.

My first tri today at the Star. Had a great time. Unfortunately my chip didn't register. I had my total time from my cheap watch and my bike and run from Garmin. Disappointed in the chip system but oh well. Looking forward to more events but need to get much better at swimming.

Man.  That really sucks!  But your first tri shouldn't be about time anyway so just relish in the experience.  There will be plenty of opportunities for you to race again.  CONGRATS on finishing.  Really fun event.

I completely agree. I know my overall time and that I finished. Being the first time it was all about the experience. Very fun event.

Good race.  I placed 4th out of 11 in my AG.  Missed 3rd by exactly one minute.

Great job Derek on your 2nd place finish!

9th out of 18 in AG for me.  Apparently they were able to retrieve my times including splits.  This was my first tri and I'm hooked.  Already looking for next one but really need to practice my swim distances.  Was planning to do my first tri next year but found this one in early August and with short swim, decided to go for it.

What a great group of people to be around.  Looking forward to more next year.
