Swim
Comments: No water anxiety at all. Swam with good technique, good sighting and navigation throughout. Maintained "comfortably hard" pace. What would you do differently?: Could have pushed harder? Transition 1
Comments: Time is deceptive, includes long jog from beach to transition area. Bike
Comments: Felt very strong on the bike the whole time. Would have had a much better time if I hadn't gone off course. Drank 750cc water and 750cc 1/2 strength gatorade. Ate 2 PowerBar protein bites and 2 PowerBar energy bites. What would you do differently?: Follow the course next time! Transition 2
Comments: Changed socks for dry ones, probably cost me 20-30 seconds - but I think it was worth it. 20-30 seconds is not the difference between happy and sad for me; soggy socks for 6 miles could have been. Run
Comments: Long slog. The last 2/3 of this run was basically survival mode. Ran the whole way (except when hydrating), but not fast. What would you do differently?: Just need more fitness. Post race

Early am wakeup, load kids in car, drive to Muncie.
Normal breakfast of steel cut oats and blue berries.
Had a very low volume, low intensity workout week leading up to this event; felt very fresh. Previous to taper week had been feeling deeply fatigued at the beginning of every workout.
Minimal warmup; stretching only.
