Subject: Rent a decent Carbon Triathlon-bike (Toronto/Durham)
Looking to rent a decent tri-bike (carbon) for a couple Ironman's I have coming-up next year.  I want to plan ahead. Anyone know where I can rent decent-good bikes. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to BT.

I am not sure were you are locsated but perhaps start with a local LBS that sells Tri bikes...I know that some stores will rent bikes/wheels for races.

Good luck.

@jsmoon, thanks for the reply. I am located in TORONTO, ONTARIO and willing to locate in surrounding area. I have made some phone call and email in this regard. But it seems difficult to find a store that has something as described above. Most stores rent out mountain bikes or cruisers but not Tri-carbon-bikes. I want something of decent quality. Thanks again.

What size bike are you looking for?

I have a 54cm P3 I would be willing to rent ya if the dates work.

I'm 45 min north of TO.

I would suggest checking out the bike stores right now - some of them have some awesome sales on- you may be able to buy your dream carbon bike at a lower price than you thought possible - that way you would be able to train on the same bike you race on.

There's also the Toronto Bike Show happening the weekend of Oct. 15.

Some really good deals there since retailers don't want to get stuck with excess (aging) inventory all winter.

I would be surprised if retailers rent out high-end carbon bikes.  It's a huge risk on their part - if it gets crashed then it's just spare components.

I second the bike show in TO - GREAT deals to be found there. I'm so bummed I can't get up there this time - I'm running the 1/2 in Detroit.
