I wanted to do it this year but I didn't realize it sold out. Hope to be able to do it next year. Good luck to those who are doing it.

James, I can't say if it's normal or not, but you will do great. I you've put in the hard work and soon you will be able to enjoy the reward.

what a great weather day for the race and tons of support from the crowd, even though I am a pharmacist for St Jude I still get an amazing feeling running through the campus

Very well organized race.  I ran the half. My only criticism is they don't place aid stations on both sides of the road so runners like me get almost trampled when we don't get water by those that have the blinders on at mile 7 to make a dash to get water.  The last race I ran was the Savannah Half marathon and people would split off so there wasn't as much bumping and close calls.  Something for them to consider in future races.

Great weather and the crowds were great. The run through the campus does get you emotional.

For those that have done the full in past years, how is the course?  I've found some elevation maps online.  Doesn't look too bad - but more rolling than I expected as opposed to long flat sections.  Anything in particular to look out for?  Hopefully this will be my first full marathon.  I'm fighting some terrible tendonitis in one foot.  Just trying to keep it in check to make it to race day.

I got my Heroes singlet in over the weekend.  Ran the Wynne, AR marathon at the first of the month.  Heat and wind slowed me down.  It was my first and aimed for 3:49 but ended 4:06.  I guess I'm shooting for sub-4:00 in 2 weeks.

As ready as I'm going to be I guess.  This will be my first marathon.  I followed the Hal Higdon Novice 2.  I haven't missed a scheduled run yet (knock on wood).  Some aches and pains that I'm hoping subside during the taper.

Last week, I signed up to be a St Jude Hero as well.  I should not have waited so long but any money I can raise is better than nothing.

Any advice for a first-timer on this course?  I've reviewed several course reviews as well as the elevation chart.  Doesn't look terribly bad as far as hills.  My 20+ mile runs have had all had over 1000 ft elevation gain per my Garmin.  Hoping the flatter course will help come race day.

Good luck to all participants!

I hope you all had a good race. This was my first time running St Jude and also my first marathon. I had a great experience (despite those last four miles). Initial goal was 4:00-4:10 and I finished in 3:58. Very happy with results. Great job by St Jude and the city of Memphis hosting this event. I will be back.
