no problems with the upgrade for me.  the new organized reminders and alerts are nice.  I want to use 'find my friends', but I don't have any. Great for tracking your teenagers tho.  And, perhaps my wife will be able to see where I'm running or cycling instead of calling to find out when I'll be home.  Could be useful.

newsstand just looks like a regular folder function with a new icon.  All I have is the New York Times sitting on its shelf.  My podcast videos now have their own icon... not a big deal there.  Oh, and my camera now has a grid and an 'enhance' button, and crop capability- but I already had other and better photo tools.  The new shutter button access is nice tho'.

Those things shouldn't be lost. If you go to the app store there should be a purchased tab. You can get your apps back from there. The same with your music, you should be able to get your purchased music back from the iTunes store. Of course you can always add your music again by syncing with your computer. Good luck.

Also keep in mind that Apple added a few new icons.  Videos, Newsstand and Reminders.  If you had a lot of apps already, they might have been pushed over to another page, so keep scrolling.

Also, keep your phone plugged into iTunes. The syncing is new. It used to lock your phone up and say it was syncing until EVERYTHING was over. Now it just has a little spinner in the top left while it syncs, and you can use the phone. So make sure everything is finished syncing with iTunes first.

I did notice that when I was updating today.  I kept it plugged in until iTunes finished the update and until I finished setting everything up on the phone.  Update went fine.  Took longer to download than I thought it would, but less time to do the actual update.  Now to start playing with the reminders.
