Run
Comments: Was doing okay with a halfway decent time for such a large race, but then I pulled my calf muscle again. Oh that hurt! I was able to limp-run the rest of the race, but it really impacted my time. Also with 12,000 people in the race, maneuvering around people with strollers, and lines of walkers made it difficult. The race itself seemed pretty easy. I was consistently surprised when I'd pass a marker that I'd gone that far. What would you do differently?: Not work out so heavily the day before. I pulled my calf muscle and it HURT! Post race
Warm down: Stretched and walked around. Walked back to the hotel about 2.5 miles then sat in the hot tub for half an hour. What limited your ability to perform faster: Number of people. Pulling calf muscle. Event comments: It was a lot of fun, but next year I'll run in the green wave. Last updated: 2004-04-05 12:00 AM

Walked to starting line and ate breakfast: oatmeal and hot tea.
Did some stretching and jumping up and down. Tried not to get nervous. Tried to keep muscles warm.
