Subject: Registered for my 1st race today
Hi,

I'm so excited. I just registered for my first "major" race today.

It's a half marathon that is going to be held on april 23rd in Montreal, Quebec, Canada

I might do some other races in the meantime but this will be my A race/achievement for that part of the year.

This is so good for focus

Just wanted to tell the world about it

Way to go!  Just stick to the training and you'll do fine.  I've done that for races where I thought I might back out, but once I committed to registering, I HAD to do it.  Great motivation.

Congratulations!

This is an inspiration to me in that I was nervous about swimming in the Gulf of Mexico around the same time for the St. Anthony's triathlon ... nothing compared to swimming in Montreal.

Montreal is on my "A" list of towns that I would like to do a triathlon in ... beautiful City with great, friendly people! (Had a blast training there this summer during a business meeting - running the hill up to the hospital just about made me want to check in when I got there).

Good luck on the HIM. You can do it!

David - Sounds like fun (oh, yeah).  Have fun with winter training in the Great White North.  You're a better man than I am.    Seriously though, good luck and take the mileage build-up slowly.  You've got plenty of time.

I'm thinking about my first half marathon around that time as well! Great Job for signing up. Way to give yourself some motivation! Once you pay that entry fee, it's hard to turn back! Have you looked at Hal Higdon's training plans? Many people on this site like his plans. Good luck!
