Subject: running shoes - within-brand sizing

210lbs pounding 20+ miles a week onto a pair of shoes is breaking them down at a reasonable rate and I want to look into getting a couple more pairs to cycle through.  I currently have Asics gel gt-2100.

Can I get any asics in the same size and be reasonable sure they'll fit?  Or should I only get this line within the brand?

You're probably safe getting any Asics in the same size, but I'd try them on just to be sure.

At my LRS they let me try on different models of ASICS and do a run up and down the sidewalk around the block...even tried other brands like Mizuono, but stick with the Asics 2100.

Went to my other store, for some reason I had a hankering for Adidias ( i don't know why) tried on one pair and realized they don't fit worth a darn.  They didn't have a wide Asics 2100, so I tried a Brooks Adrenaline.  Which was ok....But later when I have gone out for long runs and even a long walk with dog.  My feet end up being sore for a day.
