Comments: I don't know where I ranked, and I really don't care. I finished, and I wasn't too far off of my goal pace (10min/mile). They didn't have a start mat, and I started at the back of the pack, so if I had a chip time it might shave a few seconds off. I had fun, and loved seeing my family cheering me on. It was great to run with my friend, Lindsay, who I am trying to get into tris. What would you do differently?: Train! I haven't really done alot since October (okay, really, August) and knowing that I improved my pace over last month is encouraging. Post race
Warm down: Hung out with Jacob and the kids. Had some Endurox. Jacob bought some things at Inside Out. Then we went to see Harry Potter and of course had soda and popcorn with lots of butter. I didn't do a good job of cooling down, I got a little chilled a couple of times. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training, too much talking on the run. Event comments: It was a good race! I am definately more confident now about next season. I really didn't push myself today. Maybe I should have, but I just wanted to have fun. Got up on time this morning, had a honey wheat bagel with pb and a banana. Drank a Dr. Pepper, then water and Accelerade.
Ran a little and did some stretching. I didn't do alot of warmup, but I feel it was sufficient for the effort I was planning to give today.
